Meridian Police Department

The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 6 a.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday:

• Fleeing and eluding in a motor vehicle – Tyrone Ray Rush, 35, 2610 Highland Ave., Meridian.

• Disturbance of a family – Jaquaesha McCoy, born in 1999, 6202 Oakland Park St., Meridian.

• Shoplifting – Shimichigan M. Huffman, born in 1999, 215 Jones Lane, Carthage.

• Disorderly conduct – Marcus Ivy, born in 1980, homeless. Ivy is also charged with disturbance of a business, indecent exposure.

• Shoplifting – Travis Lanier, born in 1972, 3009 Willow Dr., Meridian.

• Shoplifting – Shamarcus Williams, born in 1999, 1043 CR 270, Shubuta.

• Shoplifting – Christy R. Lucas, born in 1977, 123 Waters Way, Quitman.

• Driving under the influence – James L. Herring, born in 1981, 1502 45th Ave., Meridian.

• Public drunk – Demetrius L. Ford, born in 1979, PO Box 75, Toomsuba. Ford is also charged with false information, disorderly conduct.

• Possession of marijuana – Charles L. Webb, born in 1983, 2421 33rd Ave., Meridian.

• Shoplifting – Michael Griggs, born in 1988, 2315 D. St. A-6, Meridian.

Robbery

• 1700 block of 2nd St. South at 1:19 p.m.

Shootings

• 1300 block of 46th Ave. at 10:48 p.m.

• Meridian Police responded to 7 shots fired calls but when officers arrived on the scene, only 1 showed evidence to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests from 8:44 a.m. Thursday and 8:43 a.m. Friday.

• Driving under the influence/first offense – Terrance Lorenzo Clayton, 36, 4068 York Rd., Lauderdale. Clayton is also charged with possession of cocaine, no driver’s license, no liability insurance, no license tag, improper equipment.

• Failure to register as a sex offender/ non-compliant – Michael Dewayne Matthews, 35, 3600 Waterhouse Ct. B1, Kissimmee, Fla.

• Probation violation/parole – Samantha Sierra Naylor, 29, 1472 Long Creek Rd., Meridian. Naylor is also charged with suspended driver’s license, no liability insurance, hold for investigation, accessory after the fact.

• Probation violation/parole – Devin Martez Quinzy, 26, 107 Avalea Dr., Moundville, Ala.
