NCAA baseball roundups: Ole Miss clinches series vs. Auburn

Brady Feigl kept Auburn in check, and Tyler Keenan and Thomas Dillard both had three hits apiece as Ole Miss got a series-clinching win against Auburn, 8-3, in Friday night SEC baseball action.

Keenan and Dillard both finished 3-for-4 with doubles, and Keenan also had a home run, his sixth of the season. Chase Cockrell finished 2-for-4 with a home run, and Grae Kissinger also doubled for the Rebels.
Feigl pitched eight innings, surrendering just three runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out 12.
KENTUCKY 9, MSU 6
Konnor Pilkington struggled on the mound, and despite a 4-for-5 day for Bulldogs second baseman Hunter Stovall, Mississippi State fell to Kentucky Friday night.
Stovall tallied three RBIs and a triple for the Bulldogs, and Elijah MacNamee went 2-for-5. Hunter Vansau had a double for Mississippi State.
Pilkington pitched just 4 2/3 innings, giving up seven runs on nine hits with four walks and five strikeouts.

Southeast Lauderdale product Mason Irby was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI, but Southern Miss pitching allowed 10 runs on eight hits and six walks in a Friday loss to Louisiana Tech.
Erick Hoard finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Matthew Guidry was 2-for-5 for the Golden Eagles. LeeMarcus Boyd was also 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
USM starter Nick Sandlin pitched 6 1/3 innings, surrendering four runs, three earned, on two hits with four walks and eight strikeouts. The Golden Eagles’ pen gave up a combined six earned runs in just 1 1/3 innings of work before Cody Carroll pitched a scoreless 1 1/3 innings.
