The Meridian Star will host a community sidewalk sale this weekend with proceeds benefitting a local literacy program.

The sale is set for 8 a.m – 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 5 in the parking lot at Meridian Community College on Highway 19.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit Newspapers in Education, a program that supplies copies of The Meridian Star to 18 area schools.

Alexander Gould, publisher of The Meridian Star, said the sale is one way the paper seeks to connect to the community.

“We invite the community to come out and enjoy a Saturday with us and those selling their goods as part of The Meridian Star community sidewalk sale,” he said.
