MAIS baseball: NCA eliminated in second round

Centreville Academy scored three runs in the first inning, and although they were the team’s only runs of the game, they were just enough to secure a 3-2 victory against Newton County Academy Thursday.

The win ended the Generals’ season at 12-16.

Centreville Academy spoiled Newton County Academy pitcher Kemp Alderman’s two-hit performance. Alderman struck out six, walked two and didn’t allow any earned runs. Alderman gave the Generals their only runs of the game when he hit a two-run homer in the top of the fifth inning to put the score at 3-2 in Centreville Academy’s favor. Hayden Wall ended the contest 1-for-3. The Generals tallied two errors.

Centreville Academy pitcher Jace DeLee earned the win. He allowed one hit and struck out six in four innings.
