“I’m really proud of our entire team,” Lamar School coach Billy Pomeroy said. “We had 16 players on the golf team this year.  Our success today was due to both those present at the tournament today and those not present. Each team can only have six players participate in each tournament, but we have several players who are good enough to play on the first team. This competition kept each player’s game sharp until the season’s end.”

Raider golfer Eli Mitchell captured the 2018 individual state championship, while teammate Brady Lagendyk finished third.

“I’m also very proud of Eli Mitchell for winning the individual title and Brady Lagendyk for finishing in third place,” Pomeroy said. “They played very well today in some tough playing conditions.”

Eli Mitchell commented on Lamar School’s banner day.

”I went into the round with a good game plan and felt like I was able to execute it very well,” Mitchell said. “The conditions were tough out there.  I was fortunate enough to walk off of 18 with the lowest score of the day. I am very lucky to be a part of a team with such talent and motivation for three straight years in a row. I am most lucky to have one of the best coaches that cares about us more than anything.”
