The man who died from his gunshot wounds Wednesday night has been identified as Will Davis, 19, of Meridian.

Davis died Wednesday night following a 10 p.m. shooting in the 4600 block of Manning Street, according to Meridian Sgt. Dareall Thompson.

“We do believe that they knew each other,” Thompson said. “We’re trying to find a motive.”

Thompson said Davis was taken by ambulance to a local hospital following the shooting and later died from his injuries.

“The investigation is ongoing. We hope to make an arrest soon,” Thompson said.
