A celebration of the 100th birthday of Mrs. Marjorie W. Cole will be hosted by her family on Sunday, April, 2018, at 11 a.m., in the fellowship hall of St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2700 13th St. Born April 1, 1918, in Collinsville, Mrs. Cole is the second of five daughters born to the late Herbert R. and Bessie Lampley White. She was married to Willie A. Cole, who served two terms in World War II, much of that time overseas. A longtime resident of Meridian, Mrs. Cole taught business education at T.J. Harris High School and Meridian Junior College until her retirement. Mrs. Cole was an active member of St. Paul Methodist Church, an avid gamesman and extensive traveler. She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. Mrs. Cole moved to Jackson more than 12 years ago to be closer to her sister, Cozetta, and her family. There she joined the Woodhaven Community Organization and Central United Methodist Church.
