Dr. and Mrs. Scott Massingill of Meridian are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, April, to Taylor Mabry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joey Mabry.
The wedding will be Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church in Meridian.
April is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Nelson Jr. of Newton and Mrs. Ruth Arnold of Semmes, Ala. and the late Mr. Richard Massingill Sr.
April is a highest honors graduate of Lamar School and a summa cum laude graduate of Mississippi State University.
While at Mississippi State, April was a member of Chi Omega sorority and R. After graduation, April moved to Jackson and began work at Steen’s Creek Elementary School in Florence, where she teaches kindergarten. April recently completed work for her master’s degree in elementary education at Delta State University.
Taylor is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mabry.
Taylor is a highest honors graduate of Lamar School and a summa cum laude graduate of Mississippi College.
While at Mississippi College Taylor was a member of Tri-Beta Biology Society and American Society of Microbiology. Taylor also participated in intramural sports and served as the biology department tutor.
Taylor is currently attending the University of Mississippi School of Medicine where he is a member of Club Med, an M2 mentor and has volunteered at the Jackson Free Clinic.
Taylor will receive his Doctor of Medicine degree in May.
