The church was founded by Christ to promote his kingdom of righteousness, peace, and joy in the world. It is an institution that takes God seriously, teaches His word, observes His ordinances, promotes His program, and seeks to exemplify His spirit.

The church is the one institution that seeks the allegiance of men for their own sakes and gives it primary concern to the souls of men, seeking to prepare them for the best in time and eternity.

The Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church was established in 1906 in the home of the late Sister Eliza Taylor. At this time the late Elder Jeff Blanks led the flock as pastor.

The first church home for Macedonia was built on Eighth Avenue and remained there until the early 1950s. This building served Macedonia for many years.

Under the leadership of Elder J.B. Taylor, the Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church moved to a new location, 605 21st Street, Meridian, Mississippi.

Elder Taylor served Macedonia as pastor until 1973. In that same year, Elder Simmie Brown was elected pastor and served faithfully until 1992. In 1992, Macedonia’s own sons were elected as pastor, in the person of Elder L.V. Williams. Under Elder Williams tenure nine lots were purchased for plans for a new sanctuary. Elder Williams served Macedonia until 2004.

In March 2005, Macedonia elected Elder Maurice Lee as pastor. Under Elder Lee’s leadership, Macedonia begins to grow both spiritual and numerical. On Jan. 1, 2012, Macedonia began every Sunday Service. In Aug. 2013 ground was broken in preparation for construction of a new Sanctuary. On April 27, 2014, Macedonia held their dedication service for their new Sanctuary which is located at 2012 Lynch Ave.
