A pair of local soccer players were recently named to the Mississippi Association of Coaches’ All-Star soccer teams.

Clarkdale’s Skylar Spears was named to the girls’ South team, while Newton County’s Joel Hill was selected to the boys’ North team. Spears is coached by Brandon Rodgers, while Hill his coached by Chad Bond.

The All-Star games will take place Feb. 24 at Brandon High School’s Bulldog Stadium in Brandon. The girls’ game will begin at noon, followed by the boys’ game at 2 p.m.
