Worship Site Profile: Cattle Call Cowboy Church

In December of 2016, Tommy Ainsworth was asked to do the opening prayer at the Southern Professional Rodeo Association Finals in Philadelphia, Mississippi. During this weekend, Billy Hudson (owner of Double Creek Rodeo Company) asked if he would come do opening prayers and devotionals for the contestants at the rodeos that he had booked for the 2017 rodeo year. Tommy was already doing Cowboy Church for the Mississippi Little Britches Rodeo Association when the rodeo was in Meridian at the Ag Center, so he agreed to add these rodeos in as well. He still had the feeling he was supposed to be doing more.

In March of 2017, we had interest in having a small group meeting on Sunday mornings. After much prayer, we began meeting in our carport with a small group. We continued to meet through the summer and had more interest growing. By August of 2017, Cattle Call moved into Meridian Livestock (formerly Meridian Stockyard) thanks to Eric Weaver – the new owner. We still meet there in the sale ring area.
