An Ohio man has returned to Lauderdale County to face charges related to inappropriate attempted sexual contact with a minor in June.
Jack Clifford Lovell, 55, faces two charges of kidnapping and attempting to commit an offense against a female minor on June 12, Lauderdale County Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun said.
The charges stem from an attempt by Lovell to keep the juvenile in a bedroom of a home, Calhoun said.
One month later, authorities also charged Lovell with failure to register as a sex offender but couldn’t locate him, Calhoun said.
In August, Putnam County, Tennessee law enforcement officers located Lovell after a tip “from a concerned citizen,” according to the Herald-Citizen, a daily newspaper based in Cookeville, Tenn.
The Herald-Citizen also reported that authorities sought Lovell from Roane County, Tennessee and Warren County, Tennessee for three counts of theft and one count of aggravated burglary.
Calhoun said that Lovell was extradicted to face charges in Lauderdale County on Tuesday.
Bond for Lovell is set at $40,000, or $20,000 for kidnapping, $10,000 for attempting to commit an offense and $10,000 for failing to register as a sex offender, according to the sheriff’s department.
