John Grisham (1955-), an author who was born in Jonesboro, Ark., and resides in Oxford and Charlottesville, Va.
Jim Henson (1936-1990), a puppeteer, who was born in Greenville and spent much of his childhood in Leland.
Robert Johnson (1911-1938), a bluesman who was born in Hazlehurst.
James Earl Jones (1931-), an actor born in Arkabutla.
B.B. King (1925-2015), a bluesman born in Berclair.
George Ohr (1857-1918), a potter born in Biloxi.
Elvis Presley (1935-1977), an entertainer born in Tupelo.
