Meridian Police Department

The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 6 a.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday:

• Simple assault – Roshekia Purnell, born in 1985, 2427 4th Ave. Purnell is also charged with contempt.

• Trespassing – Kenyatta Walker, born in 1995, 1426 30th Ave.

• Shoplifting – Amanda Doggett, born in 1978, 962 Aycock Road.

• Shoplifting – Quindell Griffin, born in 1989, 208 Long Blvd.

• Shoplifting – Cruise Petty, born in 1992, 208 Robin Hood Circle.

• Possession of marijuana – Shantarica Harris, born in 1992, 115 Playground St. Harris is also charged with possession of controlled substance, no insurance, failure to dim high beams, improper equipment.

Auto burglary

• 400 block of 45th Court at 7:31 a.m.

• Meridian Police responded to 1 shots fired calls but when officers arrived on scene there was not any evidence found to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests from 8:44 a.m. Thursday and 8:43 a.m. Friday.

• Conspiracy to commit a crime into contraband correctional facility – Cedrick L. Blanks, 28, 3003 40th Ave., Meridian.

• Contempt of court – Ira James Chambliss, 57, 1619 8th Ave. 74, Meridian.

• Probation violation/parole – Justin Isaiah Freeze, 22, 277 Betts Ratcliff Rd., Meridian.

• Aggravated assault/domestic violence – Gina Lynn Hembree, 32, 6923 Bronson Road, Meridian. Hembree is also charged with Burglary-commercial bldg. cars, etc.

• Possession of methamphetamine – Kenneth Dondreyux Ratcliff, 22, 8548 King Road A, Meridian. Ratcliff is also charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
