Mr. and Mrs. Robert Allen Cheatham of Newnam, Ga., are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Caroline Elisabeth, to Mr. John Thurman Everett, son of Dr. and Mrs. Thurman Keith Everett of Meridian.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mack Paul King of Louisville, and Mrs. Elinor Ruth Cheatham and the late Mr. George Dayton Cheatham of El Dorado, Ark.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Pauline McElhenney, the late Mr. Perry David McElhenney II of Decatur, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Bobby Everett, also of Decatur.
Miss Cheatham is a graduate of East Coweta High School in Sharpsburg, Ga. She earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and nursing from the University of Mississippi.
Miss Cheatham is currently employed as a registered nurse in the surgical unit at Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Everett is a graduate of Lamar School and Meridian Community College. He earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Mississippi. While attending Meridian Community College, he was a member of the golf team.
Mr. Everett is currently employed as a credit analyst at Citizens National Bank in Meridian.
The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m. on the evening of Dec. 2, 2017, at the Oxford-University Methodist Church in Oxford.
