A Meridian native recently secured a position in the 2017-2018 class of White House Fellows, a program that offers the opportunity for public service in various one-year roles within the federal government.

Crystal Moore, of Meridian, will work as a fellow in the White House Office of Public Liaison.

Moore’s biography didn’t list her high school, but her LinkedIn profile said she attended Xavier University in Louisiana from 2003 until 2007, where she was elected to serve as a student body president and was the recipient of the St. Katherine Drexel Award, Xavier’s highest student honor for service and leadership, according to a White House release.

Moore graduated cum laude with a bachelors of science in business administration and finance, holding a variety of positions over the last decade, interning for the White House Domestic Policy Council’s education policy team and also mentoring underrepresented minority students.

In 2013, Moore received her MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, where she was a merit scholarship recipient, and studied strategy, social entrepreneurship and education policy at the London School of Economics.

Continuing her career working in the education sector, Moore served as the senior director of business development at Fullbridge, Inc., a venture-backed education technology company that helps expose students to career readiness skills through blended-learning and online programs on college campuses.

According to her LinkedIn, Moore will support the White House Initiative on historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs).

According to a White House news release, fellows will receive education in leadership, policy-making and contemporary issues while also participating in several community service projects throughout the year.
