- Michael Neary / The Meridian StarBetty Chaney, Human Resources Information Services manager for Rush Health Systems, leads a rendition of “God Bless America” as a closing tribute for Monday morning’s Rush Patriots’ Day Prayer Service in the Rush Cafeteria, on the 16th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on New York and Washington. Rev. Vicki Gladding, the chaplain for Rush Health Systems, led the opening prayer, and Rush caregivers were invited to submit names of people for whom they requested prayers. After the service, Gladding noted people who serve in active military, reserve, veterans, police, firefighters and “any type of first responders” as particularly central to Monday’s prayer service. “We’ll continue to pray for them,” Gladding said. “We pray for them today, but the pastoral department will continue to lift them up in prayer.”
