Celebrating Labor Day with the blues

Hundreds gathered under umbrellas, tents, campers and RVs to enjoy a day of barbecuing, socializing and blues entertainment at the Q. V. Sykes Baseball Complex for the second annual Q.V. Sykes Labor Day Blues Festival. The all-day event had a dozen scheduled acts, along with a new horse show for kids. Proceeds from the festival are earmarked for the Boys & Girls Club.The event was promoted by Kino Mosley, a Meridian native who now lives in Tupelo.
