Alexander joins Rush Health Systems

Rush Health Systems has announced that Lon F. Alexander, M.D., a board certified Neurosurgeon, has joined the team of specialists at Rush Medical Group and will begin seeing patients on the second floor of the Rush Professional Office Building located at 1800 12th Street in Meridian.

Dr. Alexander received his Doctorate of Medicine degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine located in New Orleans, Louisiana. He completed his Neurosurgery residency at the University of Mississippi in Jackson, Mississippi. He received fellowship training in cerebrovascular and skull base surgery at Polenov Neurosurgical Institute in Leningrad, USSR and Nagoya University School of Medicine in Nagoya, Japan.

Dr. Alexander is board certified in Neurosurgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. He is dedicated to the care and treatment of delicate neural elements associated with the brain and spinal cord. Dr. Alexander has co- authored/contributed to eight textbooks of neurosurgery and 23 peer reviewed publications in subjects including spine surgery, complex aneurysm surgery and concussion. Dr. Alexander will treat a full range of neurological conditions including spinal disorders, cranial disorders, peripheral nerve disorders and neurological sports injuries.
