West could not comment on the exact cause of death.
The accident, which also claimed the lives of Derrick Rashawn Moore, 18, and Carter Jace Little, 21, occurred at about 4:15 p.m. Monday on Highway 11 South, between Bronson Road and Barmer Lane, in the Savoy community.
West said Moore was traveling north in a yellow 2015 Chevy Camaro convertible during heavy rain. Moore, with Little in the passenger seat, apparently lost control and crossed into the southbound lane. The two vehicles collided and sustained heavy damage.
Roberson, who was wearing a seatbelt, was extricated from her red 2014 Toyota sedan and listed as incapacitated on the accident report. The next day, her condition was listed as critical.
Neither of the Camaro’s occupants wore seat belts and the accident ejected Moore from the vehicle, West said.
The Meridian Fire Department, Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department and the Mississippi Highway Patrol were among responders to the crash, which remains under investigation.
