Miss Mayer, Mr. Hines

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Simon Mayer Jr. of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Michelle, to James Virgil Hines IV, son of Mr. James V. Hines III and Ms. Margaret H. Hines of Vicksburg.

The wedding will be Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at 7 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church in Meridian.

Miss Mayer is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Simon Mayer Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Von Edwins.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Northeast High School and a graduate of Mississippi State University, where she received a degree in Insurance, Risk Management and Financial Planning.

While attending MSU, she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.

Miss Mayer currently resides in Meridian and is employed by Harry Mayer, Inc. She is involved in numerous organizations around the city and has served on many local boards, including the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation Foundation Board of Directors and the Meridian Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors. She is also a past-president of the Young Professionals of Meridian and the Meridian Symphony League.

Mr. Hines is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James V. Hines Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. John C. Hamilton.

The bride-groom elect is a graduate of Porters Chapel Academy and a graduate of Mississippi State University where he received a bachelor of arts degree in Business Management.

While attending MSU, he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity.

Mr. Hines currently resides in Meridian, where he is employed by The Citizens Bank of Philadelphia. He is a member of the Meridian Rotary Club, the Young Professionals of Meridian and the Meridian Board of Realtors.

A reception will be held at Northwood Country Club.
