1- 9:30 p.m. – Hwy 80 Songwriters Fest Grand Finale at Soule Live Steamworks. Opening act is award winning singer-songwriter and recording artist Karen E. Reynolds.

8 p.m. – The first ever “Glow So We Can Go,” 5k Run and 2 Mile Walk will take place at Bonita Lakes Park in Meridian. This glow run will benefit a 30-person medical mission team from two local churches that will serve the people of the Dominican Republic. Runners and walkers can sign up at www.northcrestbaptist.com/glow or beginning at 6 p.m. on the evening of the race. The cost is $30.

7 p.m. – The fifth annual Love Out Loud Meridian will kick off with a special worship service on the law at City Hall. This will begin a week of service. Participants will meet Monday-Friday morning at Northcrest Baptist Church’s multi-purpose building at 8 a.m. for breakfast and worship before going out to their site to serve. 10 a.m. – The East Central Planning and Development District/Area Agency on Aging will hold a Public Hearing for Aging Programs in the Board Room of the ECP&D District Office building located at 280 Commercial Drive in Newton.

6 p.m. – The International Singing Brakeman Association will have their regular monthly meeting at the Red Roof Inn (formerly Best Western), located at 2219 South Frontage Road. 6-7 p.m. – The Mississippi Department of Human Services/Division of Youth Services of Lauderdale County will conduct a Community Forum to receive imput from the community, and discuss the settlement agreement entered with the Department of Justice. The forum will be held at 31st Avenue Baptist Church, 3411 20th Street.

Wednesday, July 26

11 a.m. – Meridian Day at the Neshoba County Fair. Representatives from Meridian will be there to showcase our Hospitals, City, Colleges, and Military. If you would like to donate a door prize please contact EMBDC 601-693-1306.

11 a.m. – Historic First Union Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate their annual Family and Friends Day with praise, worship, and preaching. Special guest speaker will be the Rev. David Ellington of Old Elam Missionary Baptist Church in Montgomery, Ala. along with his church family.
