70TH (PLATINUM) ANNIVERSARY

- A.R. Smith and Mary Gloria Smith (Isabell) of Meridian will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. A.R. is retired from his position of director of Air Traffic Control, Freeport International Airport, Freeport Bahamas. Gloria is retired from Eastern Airlines, where she was a ticket agent. The couple have six children: Carole Smith, Deborah Smith, Linda Smith, Brenda Copeland, Pamela Dowden and Gary Smith; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will gather Saturday, May 20, 2017, from 1-3 p.m., at 727 Elmwood Drive, for fellowship and refreshments. The couple requests no gifts.
