Meridian Police Department

The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Friday and 8:43 a.m. Monday:

• Domestic violence – Jamillian Montiunque Benamon, 26, 1712 29th Ave., Meridian.

• Failure to pay (justice court) – Louise Burns, 58, 1325 45th Ave., Meridian.

• Murder – Cortez Lakeith Byrd, 25, 917 29th Ave., Meridian. Byrd is also charged with possession of drugs while in possession of a firearm, trafficking a controlled substance and two counts of child endangerment.

• Driving under the influence (DUI), first offense – Quashun Ladarius Calhoun, 23, 1325 30th Ave., Meridian. Calhoun is also charged with speeding, no liability insurance and contempt of court.

• Disorderly conduct – Michael Tyler Cook, 24, 549 Chunky Duffee Road, Chunky. Cook is also charged with resisting arrest and domestic violence.

• Simple assault – Tiera Cummings, 23, 2611 Green Loop Road, Lauderdale. Cummings is also charged with willful trespassing and two counts of disturbance of family.

• Willful trespassing – Levon Desha Lemon, 33, 2702 Tenth St., Meridian. Lemon is also charged with petit larceny and contempt of court.

• Disorderly conduct – Traun R. Noble, 20, 506 Front St., Meridian. Noble is also charged with underage consumption.

• Disorderly conduct – Margaret Palmer, 23, 359 Pal, Pontotoc. Palmer is also charged with two counts of giving false ID information.

• Leaving the scene of an accident – Mahognea Lamecheaha Perry, 22, 2427 Fourth Ave., Meridian. Perry is also charged with no liability insurance and driving without a license.

• Possession of drugs while in possession of a firearm, two counts – Kahari Shaquille Cortez Scott, 23, 2531 45th Ave., Meridian. Scott is also charged with felon in possession of a firearm, trafficking a controlled substance and two counts of child endangerment.

• Malicious mischief – Rolanda Marsh, born in 1995, 4000 38th St., Meridian.

• DUI – Ryan Clark, born in 1989, 8606 King Road, Meridian. Clark is also charged with possession of marijuana.

• Possession of marijuana – Kevin Crowell, born in 1996, 606 59th Ave., Meridian.

• Malicious mischief – Terrance Fifer, born in 1979, 3804 35th Ave., Meridian. Fifer is also charged with driving with a suspended license.

• Telephone harassment – Lashonda Windham, born in 1980, 548 Old Country Club Road, Meridian.

• DUI – Kevin Randle, born in 1970, 200 23rd St., Meridian. Randle is also charged with disregard of traffic device and giving false ID information.

• DUI – Antonio Hayes, born in 1993, 2616 12th Ave., Meridian. Hayes is also charged with careless driving. 

Incident Reports

The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents from Friday through Sunday:

Auto Burglary

• 500 block of Sweet Gum Bottom Road, Meridian.

Residential Burglaries

• 1700 block of 16th Street, Meridian.

• 4900 block of Shumate Road, Meridian.

• 2200 block of 18th Avenue, Meridian.

• 2600 block of C Street, Meridian.

• 4500 block of Highway 39 North, Meridian.

• 100 block of 71st Street, Meridian.

Shootings

• 1900 block of 28th Avenue, Meridian.

Meridian Police responded to 11 shots-fired calls but when officers arrived on scene there was not any evidence found to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Friday and 8:43 a.m. Monday:

• Failure to pay child support – Cordarryl D. Buxton, 30, 25 County Road 1583, Quitman.

• Possession of marijuana, first offense – David D. Cheatham, 24, 10640 Mayatt Road, Collinsville. Cheatham is also charged with possession of paraphernalia.

• Telephone harassment – Amber Dean, 37, 8742 Pine Springs Road, Meridian.

• Violation of MS compulsory school attendance law – Angela M. Dean, 41, 1703 36th Ave., Meridian.

• Public drunkenness – Britton Lloyd Johnson, 47, 146 Shannon Trey Lane, Florence.

• Possession of marijuana, first offense – Mhijhai Monae Johnson, 19, 107 71st Place, Meridian.

• Welfare fraud, Medicaid – Jennifer Lynn McMillan, 46, 577 Clemons Circle, Hartford, Ala. McMillan is also charged with two counts of bad check, felony.

• DUI, second offense – Johnny R. Reynolds, 34, 10267 Morgan Road, Meridian. Reynolds is also charged with child endangerment, no liability insurance, seat-belt violation and being held for outside agency.

• Violation of MS compulsory school attendance law – Antoinette Stewart, 37, 2301 29th Ave., Meridian.

• Violation of order/agreement – Alvin Davon Thompson, 40, 9493 Billy Bell Road, Lauderdale.

• DUI, second offense – Andrew Dale Wofford, 26, 3610 Suqualena Meehan Road, Meridian. Wofford is also charged with driving with a suspended license.
