The Eagles split the twin bill against the WarHawks by falling in Game 1, 2-1, and bouncing back to win Game 2, 8-5.

The day started out by the Eagles falling in tough luck-fashion. Freshman Hunter Stanley took the tough loss on the mound in Game 1 by pitching seven strong innings for the Eagles. The lone run in Game 1 came on an RBI single from Garrett Busby, who knocked in Blake Fields, who earlier reached on a double in the fifth inning.

MCC bounced back in Game 2. Zack Carter continued his great work at the plate in Game 2 with an RBI base hit, while Hunter Stanley drove in two runs on a pair of sacrifice flies. Milton Smith also picked up an RBI single in Game 2, and JD Gann drove in a pair of runs on a base hit for the Eagles. Chase Coker and Luke Craig each added an RBI single, while Garrett Busby picked up an RBI on a groundout in the victory.

Matthew Harrison notched the pitching win out of the bullpen for the Eagles, while Logan McDowell earned the save in the three-run victory.

MCC is now 7-5 overall after the doubleheader split on Saturday and will return to action on Tuesday afternoon at Scaggs Field against Southwest Tennessee. The doubleheader between the two schools is set to begin at 1 p.m.
