Thanks for Ham Meal support
On behalf of First Christian Church, I write to thank you for your support of the 54th annual Kentucky Ham Meal held Feb. 7-8. Without the support of businesses, groups, and individuals from the area, the event would not succeed, and the many charities that benefit from it would not receive funding from this source.
This year’s event sold over 2700 plates. Volunteers from the church, community, and various charities worked cooperatively over two days to serve meals to those that dined-in and those that carried-out. We had a large number of deliveries this year, which helped to increase the amount raised and given to the charities (ten of which were local and the other two in Jackson).
Our congregation appreciates everyone that bought tickets, provided free advertising, donated portions of the food and supplies, or volunteered time to work at the event. It was a tremendously successful year and especially meaningful, as we dedicated this year’s meal to founder, Mrs. Jo Ann Apperson, who died last fall.
First Christian Church appreciates the Meridian community and the opportunity you give us to serve those in need through the funds raised at the Kentucky Ham Meal. We thank you for supporting our effort for yet another year.
