Woman arrested after high-speed chase through Meridian neighborhood

The Meridian Police Department arrested a woman Tuesday following a high-speed chase through a residential neighborhood, charging her with felony fleeing.
Around 11:50 a.m., an officer monitoring traffic on 29th Avenue clocked a vehicle going over the speed limit, according to Sgt. Dareall Thompson.
Thompson said the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, pursuing the vehicle south on 29th Avenue, east onto I-20, north on 49th Avenue and towards the neighborhood of Highland Avenue. A supervisor called off the chase as it neared the residential area.
Thompson said the woman’s name would be released Wednesday.
