The body of Ariana Bianca Naylor, 22, was found at 9:25 a.m. Sunday in Kemper County after authorities responded to a vehicle fire on Gene Mosley Road.

She was found beside what appeared to be a 2015 Dodge Charger, according to Moore. He said she appeared to have suffered from lacerations to the throat.

A man who was standing next to the car when it caught fire was also transported to a Meridian hospital with lacerations to the throat of his own and was scheduled for surgery Sunday. Moore said the vehicle was burned up.

“We’re treating it as a murder investigation. We’ll be awaiting the doctor’s evaluation,” Moore said.
