DEMOPOLIS, Ala. – The Two Rivers Arts Council is opening its 2017 season with a concert featuring 2BLU and The Lucky Stiffs.
The concert is scheduled from 6-9 p.m. Jan. 12 at the Marengo County History and Archives Museum.
2BLU and The Lucky Stiffs has showcased their premium blend of blues, rock, funk and gospel for years. Whether putting their original twists on Delta Blues when performing in an unplugged acoustic duo or trio or bringing the funk in their electrified four- or five-piece configuration, 2BLU And The Lucky Stiffs create their own unique brew to “rock your bones and soothe your soul,” according to a band release. 2BLU and The Lucky Stiffs was voted “Hard Rock Cafe” Memphis Favorite Band, Kings Of Beale Street, International Blues Challenge in 2010.
According to the release, the genesis of 2BLU and The Lucky Stiff was Bruce Andrews and George Dudley as an acoustic duo act. “2BLU” alone describes the duo act. “2BLU and The Lucky Stiffs” indicates the addition of drums, bass and percussion.
“We are “lucky” to share a mix of our music, faith and life experience with anyone who will listen,” Andrews said. “We’re just a pack of old dudes who can’t quit playing; so just call us ‘stiffs.’”
Tickets are $10 at the door and free for students, arts council members and museum members. Light hors d’oeuvres will be provided however, those attending are encouraged to bring their own beverage and spirits.
