Meridian Police Department

The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Tuesday and 8:43 a.m. Wednesday:

• Fleeing and eluding in a motor vehicle – Christopher Laderrick Edwards, 30, 1220 48th Ave., Meridian. Edwards is also charged with probation violation/parole.

• Disorderly conduct – Tony Sanchez Jones, 32, 1711 16th Ave., Meridian. Jones is also charged with public drunkenness.

• Disorderly conduct – Jeremy Killens, 34, 1621 25th Ave., Meridian.

• Destroying city property – Frederick Lee Rogers, 47, 218 MLK Drive, Meridian. Rogers is also charged with interfering with police duties.

• Felon in possession of a firearm – Joseph Lashon Rogers, 21, 2704 Valley Road, Meridian. Rogers is also charged with probation violation/parole.

• Shoplifting – Virginia Hale, born in 1983, 2111 Pleasant Ridge Road, Hickory.

• Driving under the influence (DUI) – Brittany Mitchell, born in 1994, 3182 Lauderdale Road, Lauderdale. Mitchell is also charged with expired tag.

Residential Burglaries

• 2200 block of 33rd Avenue, Meridian.

• 7100 block of Highway 80 West, Meridian.

Shootings

• 3500 block of 32nd Street, Meridian.

Meridian Police responded to 8 shots-fired calls but when officers arrived on scene there was not any evidence found to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Tuesday and 8:43 a.m. Wednesday:

• Failure to register as a sex offender – Elvin Marqias Brown, 24, 3550 Boyd Lane, Lauderdale. Brown is also charged with probation violation/parole.

• Possession of marijuana – Christopher Shrell Butler, 29, 9755 Cole Road, Lauderdale. Butler is also charged with driving without a license.

• Domestic violence, felony – Johnny Ray Darden Jr., 34, 219 Casson Road, Porterville.

• Probation violation/parole – Jacarus Deshawn Goodwin, 22, homeless. Goodwin is also charged with contempt of court.

• Driving under the influence (DUI), first offense – David Ruffin, 27, 152 Pine Ridge Road, Lisman, Ala. Ruffin is also charged with no liability insurance, no license tag and driving with a suspended license.
