Meridian Police Department

The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Tuesday and 8:43 a.m. Wednesday:

• Shoplifting, third offense – Matthew Thomas Buie, 30, homeless.

• Driving under the influence (DUI), third offense – John Robert Cato, 47, 13290 Rocky Ridge Road, Collinsville. Cato is also charged with improper equipment, driving with a suspended license and possession of methamphetamine.

• Domestic violence, felony – Lakneau Williams, 23, 1806 16th Ave., Meridian. Williams is also charged with disorderly conduct.

• Possession of methamphetamine – Renee Wright, 47, 1999 Sam Lackey Road, Meridian.

• DUI – Ricky Ezell, born in 1961, 1705 Eighth Ave., Meridian. Ezell is also charged with no liability insurance and driving with a suspended license.

• DUI – Jemil Carlisle, born in 1982, 3015 Mount Barten Place, Meridian. Carlisle is also charged with disorderly conduct, expired tag and driving with a suspended license.

• DUI – Eric Brewer, born in 1995, 2406 Willow Bend Drive, Meridian. Brewer is also charged with possession of marijuana, no liability insurance and speeding.

Robbery

• 5100 block of Highway 39 North, Meridian.

Shootings

Meridian Police responded to 2 shots-fired calls but when officers arrived on scene there was not any evidence found to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Tuesday and 8:43 a.m. Wednesday:

• Public drunkenness – Robert E. Brashier, 48, 10692 Byrd Doerner Road, Collinsville.

• Failure to appear (justice court), three counts – Joshua Gibbs, 21, 10415 Rabbit Road, Meridian.

• DUI, first offense – John Quincy Grady, 34, 702 Skyline Drive, Duncanville, Texas. Grady is also charged with careless driving, no liability insurance and failure to yield to blue light/siren.

• Possession of marijuana, first offense – Lavell McClelland, 37, 5001 Druid Lane, Meridian. McClelland is also charged with driving without a license, failure to signal, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of drugs within correctional facility.

• Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) with injuries, Hillview Drive and Mount Carmel Road (Northeast)

• MVA with injuries, West Meehan Savoy Road and Stucky Bridge Road (Meehan)

• Assist, Lauderdale Toomsuba Road (Lauderdale/Toomsuba/Russell)

• Emergency Medical Service (EMS), Highway 19 South (Southeast)

Metro Ambulance reported 53 emergency runs Wednesday at 3 p.m.
