Meridian Police Department
The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Monday and 8:43 a.m. Tuesday:
• Failure to pay child support – Melanie Rose Sharp, 33, 1505 25th Ave., Meridian.
• Simple assault – Mikal Duwan McFadden, 40, 123 Third Ave., Meridian.
• Driving under the influence (DUI), first offense – Markus Williams, 27, 301 63rd Place, Meridian. Williams is also charged with disobeying traffic control device, noise ordinance violation, seat-belt violation, careless driving, failure to yield to blue light/siren, driving without a license, no liability insurance, violation of child restraint law and disorderly conduct.
• Possession of marijuana – Jaccobian Brown, born in 1993, 803 29th St., Meridian. Brown is also charged with possession of paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon.
• Possession of marijuana – Laquarius Pringle, born in 1991, 1730 Bolen Long Creek Road, Meridian. Pringle is also charged with driving without a license, no liability insurance and disregard for traffic device.
• Malicious mischief – Latisha Bodley, born in 1981, 4401 40th Ave., Meridian.

The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents from Monday:
Commercial Burglary
• 100 block of Airport Boulevard, Meridian.
Residential Burglaries
• 700 block of 47th Avenue, Meridian.
• 3300 block of 41st Avenue, Meridian.
Stolen Vehicle
• 1700 block of Second Street, Meridian.
Shootings
Meridian Police responded to 2 shots-fired calls but when officers arrived on scene there was no evidence found to support the calls.
Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department
The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Monday and 8:43 a.m. Tuesday:
• Petit larceny – Freddy Gerald Newman, 50, 9089 Twitley Branch Road, Collinsville. Newman is also charged with domestic violence.
• Disorderly conduct – John William Sanders II, 36, 525 Mini Farm Road, Meridian. Sanders is also charged with careless driving, no turn signal, driving with a suspended license, seat belt violation, no liability insurance, resisting arrest and possession of paraphernalia.
• DUI, other substance – Lericko Leblanc Smith, 22, 8255 Headstart Road, Meridian. Smith is also charged with driving without a license, no tag, possession of marijuana and failure to appear (justice court).
• Simple assault, domestic – Michael Strickland, 19, 5027 Valley Road, Meridian.
• Trafficking in a controlled substance – Carlos Alberto Taylor, 52, 5236 Padre Island Highway, Brownsville, Texas.
