- Mississippi Arts Commission to host free series on grant programs
JACKSON – Chahta Immi Cultural Center (CICC) Museum at the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Reservation in Choctaw is one of several sites throughout the state to host “Meet the MAC,” a series presented by the Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC).
Scheduled Dec. 20, from 6-7 p.m., at the Choctaw museum, Meet the MAC details the agency’s grant programs. The program is targeted to Mississippi-based artists, arts organizations and other nonprofit organizations. Events are free and open to the public, and registration is not required.
At each session, MAC staff will present an overview of the agency’s grant programs and other services. This will be followed by a discussion on how to prepare an application for the agency’s upcoming annual grant deadline on Mar. 1. First-time applicants are especially encouraged to attend. Dates and locations for the Philadelphia, Jackson, and Hazlehurst presentations will be announced on the MAC website and Facebook page. All questions about the sessions should be directed to MAC at 601-359-6030; do not contact the host sites.
For those who unable to attend one of the presentations in person, MAC will offer a conference call session on Jan. 9, 2017. Registration is required for the conference call; please contact Diane Williams at 601-359-6529 or dwilliams@arts.ms.gov.
