First- and second-grade students at Enterprise Elementary invited some special family members to school Wednesday for their Grandparents Day Program.
Enterprise Elementary principal Steven Gunn said Grandparents Day is something the school does every year at Thanksgiving or Christmas. Sometimes they share breakfast and sometimes they share lunch.
“The kids enjoy it and it gives them a chance to show off some of their work,” Gunn said. “The family gets to see where they go to school, meet the teacher and be entertained.”
First grader Rylee Kate Napp said she was so glad to have her grandparents Tommy and Jackie Robinson and Sherri Napp visit her at school.“I think it is a great thing to do to support the children,” Napp said. “They work so hard on their program and it is a joy to watch.”

“I think it brings family and school together,” Jackie Robinson said. “It also gives us an opportunity to see their classroom and what they do.”
“I love doing it, plus I love the food,” Tommy Robinson said, with a laugh.
Students Easton Blackwell, Violet Gray and twins Sofie and Stella Moore all agree it was fun to have their grandparents at school.
“I like them being here, plus I get to go home early,” Blackwell said.
“My papaw is the best papaw in the world,” Sofie Moore said.
“It was good they came and it was fun having them eat with me,” Stella said.
“I liked having my grandparents come to eat with me, but my favorite thing was the Christmas program,” Violet Gray said.
To get in the holiday spirit guests were invited to enjoy a special Christmas program led by Enterprise Elementary music teacher, Johanna Pepper. Students entertained with a wide range of carols – Someone Is In The Chimney, Rudolph Turn Off That Nose, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Better Bundle Up and Mr. Frosty Winter.
“This is a fun thing for the kids to do – show off what they have learned this semester,” Pepper said. “They get to entertain their grandparents, have a special day and make wonderful memories.”
