Meridian Police Department

The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests from 6 a.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday:

Domestic Violence – Denise Ezell, born in 1988, 5121 5th Street. 

DUI, first offense – Anna Luke, born in 1990, 545 Holland Avenue. Luke is also charged with speeding.

Disturbance of Family – Lekesha Neal, born in 1990, 1247 Sandflat Loop Road. Neal is also charged with stalking.

Disturbance of Business – Tyrece Williams, born in 1990, 4615 Flatshows Road.

Embezzlement – Cornelius Smith, born in 1982, 8516 NE Pines Drive.

Carrying a concealed weapon – Jamarcus Gowdy, born in 1997, 3811 20th Street. 

DUI, first offense – Carl Jordan, born in 1979, 2418 3rd Avenue. Jordan is also charged with four counts of resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, four counts of disorderly conduct, failure to produce driver’s license, not having proof of insurance, having an expired tag, improper equipment and failure to dim headlights.

Meridian Police responded to 2 shots fired call but when officers arrived on scene there was not any evidence found to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests from 8:44 a.m. Wednesday to 8:43 a.m. Thursday:

Felon in possession of a firearm – Marcus Cole, born in 1983, 2286 Old Wire Road.

Possession of marijuana, vehicle – Kahari Scott, born in 1993, 3623 46th Street. Scott is also charged with a seat belt violation and possession of a controlled substance.

Suspended driver’s license – Amy Withers, born in 1971, 6338 Graham Cemetery Road. Withers is also charged with having an expired tag, improper equipment and not having liability insurance.
