Meridian Police Department

The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Tuesday and 8:43 a.m. Wednesday:

• Simple assault, attempt to create fear – James Stephen Garrison, 40, 317 54th Ave., Meridian. Garrison is also charged with contempt for child support and being held for outside enforcement.

• Simple assault, domestic – Samson Royal Jones, 37, 1527 35th Ave., Meridian. Jones is also charged with disorderly conduct and contempt for child support.

• Shoplifting – Levon Desha Lemon, 33, 2702 Tenth St., Meridian. Lemon is also charged with trespassing.

• Armed robbery – Jessica J. Powers, 22, 653 Burge Town Road, Carriere. Powers is also charged with aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit a felony.

• Simple assault – Celica Reed, 26, 1427 35th Ave., Meridian. Reed is also charged with leaving the scene of an accident and violation of insurance card in vehicle law.

• Fugitive from justice – Jeffery Todd Ward, 25, 1775 Prison Camp Road, Williamson, N.C.

• Fugitive from justice – Jerrett Cole Ward, 24, 2923 McCaskey Road, Williamson, N.C.

• Embezzlement – Monique Pruitt, born in 1980.

• Trespassing – Misty Garrison, born in 1976, 12875 Richardson Road, Meridian.

• Petit larceny – Cherie Boswell, born in 1967, 5209 South Lake Drive, Meridian.

• Domestic violence – Jacoby Clayton, born in 1994, 104 Martin Luther King Drive, Meridian.

Auto Burglaries

• 700 block of Bonita Drive, Meridian.

• 1200 block of 23rd Avenue, Meridian.

Residential Burglaries

• 3200 block of Grandview Avenue, Meridian.

• 900 block of Watters Road, Meridian.

• 7100 block of Highway 80 West, Meridian.

• 4000 block of State Boulevard, Meridian.

Shootings

Meridian Police responded to 4 shots-fired calls but when officers arrived on scene there was no evidence found to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Tuesday and 8:43 a.m. Wednesday:

• Failure to register as sex offender – Jamarious D’Angelo Burton, 27, 3510 12th St., Meridian. Burton is also charged with probation violation/parole.

• Disturbance of family – Freddie Redmond, 56, 370 Adams St., Chunky. Redmond is also charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Metro Ambulance reported 45 emergency runs Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Correction

Joseph Cody Carlisle was arrested on Nov. 29, 2016 for stalking, telephone harassment and trespassing and gave an incorrect address. The correct address is 2315 County Road 450 Quitman not 425 Grand Oak Drive Meridian per Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department.
