Curry said Williams, of Madison, is being held at the Newton County Jail.

After obtaining a warrant and searching a white Nissan Altima allegedly used as the getaway car, police recovered an undisclosed amount of cash, Curry said.

Curry posted on his Facebook page Tuesday evening the FBI will be aiding in the investigation of the robbery.

“We are grateful that the events of today concluded in the manner that they did and no one was injured,” Curry wrote, crediting the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Newton County Sheriff’s Office, and Mississippi Highway Patrol for their assistance and cooperation in the case.

“Without this, today’s apprehension would have been impossible,” he wrote.
