ECCC choirs in concert this week

DECATUR – Performances by East Central Community College gospel and concert choirs will be presented this week in the Vickers Fine Arts Center Auditorium on campus.
East Central Community College’s Gospel Choir will present its fall campus concert Wednesday at 7 p.m.
John Harris, chief of police at ECCC, will serve as guest speaker. Harris joined the East Central police force in 2012 and was promoted to chief of campus police in 2013. Prior to joining ECCC’s staff, he was chief of campus police for Meridian Community College.
Harris is a graduate of Meridian High School and Jackson (Miss.) Police Training Academy, and attended Meridian Community College, University of Houston and Trinity Theological Seminary.
Harris has served as an ordained minister for the past 30 years, and currently is pastor of Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Savoy.
The concert is open to the public and admission is free.

The ECCC Concert Choir will present its fall concert Thursday at 7 p.m. The choir is under the direction of choral and vocal music instructor Denise Riley.
Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
