EMCC men win, women fall to ECCC in hoops

DECATUR — The East Mississippi Community College men used a 13-0 run early in the second half to overtake a four-point deficit and pull away with a 76-62 road win over East Central Community College Thursday.
EMCC sophomore David McFarland had 23 points and eight rebounds. Freshman point guard Job Vernor scored 14 of his 21 points in the second half, including three 3-pointers after the break. Quitman alumnus Anterio McKines added 13 points for EMCC.
ECCC WOMEN 66, EMCC WOMEN 65
The Lady Lions erased nearly all of a 20-point second-half deficit but came up short against the Lady Warriors.
EMCC sophomore Quantesha Patterson registered her 16th career double-double with 27 points and 14 rebounds. She added four blocks and three steals. Freshman Tyeisha Juhan added 15 points and seven rebounds for EMCC.
