Meridian Police Department

The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Tuesday and 8:43 a.m. Wednesday:

• Domestic violence – Zederick Reuarltean Townsend, 41, 4120 Ninth Apt., Toomsuba. • Simple assault, two counts – Jerry Brooks, born in 1976.

• Simple assault, threat – Joe Griffin, born in 1959, 4009 Fifth St., Meridian. Griffin is also charged with trespassing, disturbance of business and contempt of court.

• Simple assault, domestic – Ronaldo Brassfield, born in 1960, 1504 18th Ave., Meridian.

• Willful trespassing – Jimmy Davis, born in 1973, homeless.

Incident Reports

The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents from Tuesday:

Auto Burglaries

• 1400 block of College Drive and 14th Street, Meridian.

• 800 block of Highway 19 North, Meridian.

• 2400 block of Old Marion Road, Meridian.

Commercial Burglaries

• 1900 block of 24th Avenue, Meridian.

• 4900 block of 27th Place, Meridian.

• 4500 block of Eighth Street, Meridian.

Shootings

Meridian Police responded to 4 shots-fired calls but when officers arrived on scene there was no evidence to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Tuesday and 8:43 a.m. Wednesday:

• Driving under the influence (DUI), third offense – Eric Alexander Bell, 39, 635 Conehatta St., Marion.

• Bad check, felony – Cordasia Laporshae Gordon, 26, 4506 Arthur St., Meridian.

• Disorderly conduct – Darrius Takari Hall-Parks, 19, 2819 16th St., Meridian. Parks is also charged with fleeing and eluding in a motor vehicle, no liability insurance, resisting arrest, careless driving, seat-belt violation and eight counts of disregard of traffic device.

• DUI, manslaughter – Thomas Jefferson Hollingsworth, 54, 12634 Two Lake Lane, Collinsville.

• Simple assault, domestic – Justin Blake Keeton, 21, 2861 Highway 19 South, Meridian. Keeton is also charged with simple assault causing bodily injury.

• Failure to appear (justice court), two counts – Kortney K. Seals, 28, 107 71st Place, Meridian.

• Possession of methamphetamine – Jonathan Eugene Smith, 40, 58 Alamucha Whynot Road, Meridian. Smith is also charged with failure to appear (justice court).
