Meridian Police Department
The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Monday and 8:43 a.m. Tuesday:
• Giving false ID information – Jarado Rashad Allen, 21, 506 Front St., Meridian. Allen is also charged with probation violation/parole.
• Driving under the influence (DUI), first offense – Jelani Brown Jr., 19, 705 17th Ave., Meridian. Brown is also charged with reckless driving, driving without a license and no liability insurance.
• Failure to appear (justice court), six counts – Rodriquez Terez May, 35, 1518 45th Ave., Meridian.
• Shoplifting – Shanita Seals, born in 1986, 229 McVay Road, Meridian.
• Possession of counterfeit substance – Daphne Johnson, born in 1982, 820 Bragg Ave., Meridian.
Incident Reports
The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents from Monday:
Residential Burglaries
• 2800 block of Highland Avenue, Meridian.
• 4000 block of 35th Street, Meridian.
Stolen Vehicles
• 1400 block of Roebuck Drive, Meridian.
Shootings
Meridian Police responded to 6 shots-fired calls but when officers arrived on scene there was no evidence to support the calls.
Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department
The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests between 8:44 a.m. Monday and 8:43 a.m. Tuesday:
• Probation violation/parole – Stephanie Dawn Compton, 40, 23 Oka-Hatchee Circle, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
• Armed robbery – Christieon Devonte Crump, 20, 2392 Kipling Road, DeKalb.
• Failure to appear (justice court), two counts – Jason Eric Dearman, 43, 788 Scruggs Road, Meridian. Dearman is also charged with failure to pay (justice court).
• DUI, second offense – Joe Anthony Griffin, 58, 4009 Fifth St., Meridian. Griffin is also charged with improper equipment, failure to exhibit license on demand, giving false ID information, interfering with police duties, careless driving, driving with a suspended license, violation of insurance card in vehicle law, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and domestic violence.
• Failure to appear (justice court), seven counts – Michael D. Portis, 40, 5806 Mosby Road, Meridian.
