Springfield vaulted to stardom with the hit song “Jessie’s Girl” in 1981. At the same time, he was starring in the TV soap opera “General Hospital.” He’s kept his acting and music careers thriving ever since, appearing on TV and in movies, releasing 18 studio albums and continuing to play both full-band and solo concerts.

“I love playing live and always have,” Springfield told an interviewer. In his Stripped Down shows, he sits on stage with just a guitar and a microphone, singing his favorites among his own songs and throwing in an occasional cover version of a rock ’n’ roll classic.

“I tell the stories of all the songs I play in the show,” he said. So if you want to find out whether “Jessie’s girl” was a real person, you need to buy a ticket before the concert sells out.
