Police continue to investigate the death of Exxon clerk Sandeep Singh, who died from wounds sustained in an armed robbery on Oct. 21.
“We have received some tips from the community,” said Sgt. Dareall Thompson, of the Meridian Police Department. “(And) we follow-up on everything.”
Police, however, have not yet been able to identify the shooter.
Sandeep emigrated from India five months ago, pursuing a better life in America on borrowed money from his parents.
As of Friday morning, a Gofundme to benefit Sandeep’s family had raised $20,665 in five days, just over halfway to the stated goal of $40,000.
According to Gurpreet Singh, a family friend who started the Gofundme, the money will be used to obtain visas for Sandeep’s parents or to send Sandeep’s body to India. Money leftover will help repay the loans his parents took to send Sandeep to America.
