Police are still searching for a man involved in armed robbery Friday night at a Dollar General Store.

Police responded to a 911 call about an armed robbery around 8:40 on the 1800 block of 24th Ave., according to Sgt. Dareall Thompson of the Meridian Fire Department.

A store clerk told police that a white man robbed her at gunpoint and fled the scene on foot.

Police did not know how much money had been taken and said they hoped to obtain video of the man, who wore a black mask with a black hoodie and gray jogging pants.

Thompson acknowledged previous robberies in the area, including a Walgreens and the CEFCO on 24th Avenue both robbed at gunpoint in June.

Police said they do not believe these are linked because the CEFCO suspect had been arrested and the description of the Walgreens suspect differed from the Dollar General clerk’s account.

Police ask anyone with information to call the Crimestoppers line at (855) 485-TIPS.
