Good citizens in Meridian
I would like to recognize and thank you for some of your finest Meridian citizens.
On a recent Sunday morning, I, my sister, my brother, and his wife were in an auto accident near your city. We were going to New Orleans for a family reunion on a cruise ship. Derek Partridge and several other “good Samaritans” stopped and helped us from our overturned vehicle. Though bruised and battered, we fortunately had no serious injuries. Our car was towed and we assumed our reunion was not to be.
Derek and his wife, Gerri, drove my brother, a Vietnam vet, to several locations looking for a rental car. Nothing was available that Sunday morning.
Derek was determined that we should not miss our cruise. He called his brother and informed him of our predicament. Bunky and Diane Partridge drove us to New Orleans. We did not miss the boat.
We will not forget the concern and the generosity of the Partridge brothers, their wives, the nice Highway Patrol officer (Anthony?), and the others who stopped to help us. Meridian must be a very special place if showing such kindness to strangers is typical of many of its citizens.

Trump should name cabinet
Madame President… unless… unless.
Yes, if the election for president of the United States were to be held today, Hillary Clinton would be the next president.
I personally do not believe that two more debates can do much of anything to help Donald Trump other than lose additional polling points.
Several weeks ago when Trump hired KellyeAnn Conway as his NEW campaign manager, Trump exhibited some semblance of presidential qualities as he read from a prepared scripted message via a teleprompter subsequently drawing to a “dead heat” with Clinton in the national polls.
Presently Trump has reverted to his “old self” while taking the bait on such a trivial matter about a Miss Universe contestant, something that occurred 10 years ago. The preceding made the news for approximately a week while thousands are being murdered daily by ISIS, North Korea and China are flexing their muscles, Russia is on the march to reclaiming a leadership position in the world, and the Muslim world is making this great country of ours look like a third world power.
Come on Donald, take my advice and do the following during the next 10 days. Hold a press conference and make a statesman speech to the American public, then introduce those standing at your side, the Presidential Cabinet that will support you and the American Public for the next four years. Giuliani, Gingrich, Christie, Fiorina, Walker, Huckabee, etc., you get point.
This move is unprecedented and Hillary will have to reciprocate somehow. Conveniently trip over your ego breaking your jaw and have it wired for the next month.
