Barry named president of Mississippi Bar

Rick Barry of Meridian has assumed the office of president-elect of The Mississippi Bar. The Mississippi Bar is composed of all of Mississippi’s 7,000 lawyers.
He is a native of Quitman where he graduated from Quitman High School. He received his undergraduate and law degree from Ole Miss. Upon graduating from law school, Barry joined the Meridian law firm of Bourdeaux and Jones, the predecessor to his current firm, Barry, Palmer, Thaggard, May & Bailey, where he has practiced law for 36 years.
Rick has served the President of the Lauderdale County Bar Association and the Young Lawyers Division of The Mississippi Bar. He is a former member of the governing boards of The Mississippi Bar and Bar Foundation.
Barry will be sworn in as president of The Mississippi Bar at the bar’s annual meeting in July 2017.
