Car stolen at gunpoint in Meridian

Meridian police are searching for a suspect who stole a vehicle at gunpoint in the city of Meridian Sunday night.
The crime occurred around 9 p.m. in the 4800 Block of 8th Street, according to Meridian Police Department Sgt. Dareall Thompson.
Several individuals had been working on the vehicle when they noticed someone was inside the vehicle driving away, Thompson said. They had left the keys in the ignition.
When they tried to approach the vehicle, the suspect who is described as having dreadlocks, pulled a weapon on them and drove away, Thompson said.
No one was injured in the crime, and the investigation is ongoing, Thompson said.
