1 injured in Meridian shooting Tuesday night

Investigators with the Meridian Police Department are searching for an individual who they believe could be responsible for a shooting that left one man injured Tuesday night in the city of Meridian.
Meridian police responded to a call around 9:30 to 16th Street and 18th Avenue where one person was shot, Meridian Police Department Sgt. Dareall Thompson.
The victim, who was shot one in the neck after a verbal altercation, was taken to a local hospital by personal vehicle, and Wednesday morning his condition is unknown, police said.
“We do have a person of interest that we are looking for, but we are continuing to investigate this incident,” Thompson said.
He did not provide a description.
