Meridian Texaco Foodmart reports armed robbery

Meridian police are searching for a suspect in connection to an armed robbery around 2 p.m. Saturday in the city of Meridian.
A black man entered the Texaco Foodmart at 20th Street and State Boulevard, displayed a handgun and demanded the clerk hand over the cash, Meridian Police Department Sgt. Dareall Thompson said.
The man, who wore a mask and red shirt, ran out of the store and up a side street behind the store, Thomson said.
No injuries were reported, Thompson said.
Police are asking anyone with information that might help investigators to call the police, or the East Mississippi Crimestoppers line at (855) 485-TIPS.
