MSU, Ole Miss host, Southern Miss to FSU

Mississippi State and Ole Miss will host regionals in the opening round of the NCAA Baseball Tournament as No. 1 seeds, while Southern Mississippi also made it to a regional, it was announced Monday.
Mississippi State will host a regional as the No. 6 national seed, the first national seed in program history. The Bulldogs (41-16-1) will be paired with Southeast Missouri in the 1:30 p.m. Friday opener of the regional, while Cal State Fullerton and Louisiana Tech will square off at 6:30 p.m. that same day. Mississippi State won the SEC’s regular-season championship.
Ole Miss (43-17) will square off against Pac-12 champion Utah at 7 p.m. Friday in its regional opener. Earlier Friday, Tulane and Boston College will open the Oxford Regional at 3 p.m.
Despite winning the Conference USA tournament with a 3-2 win against Rice Sunday, the Golden Eagles (40-18) will open regional play on the road at the Tallahassee Regional. Southern Miss, the No. 2 seed, is set to take on South Alabama at 11 a.m. Friday, while Florida State will square off against Alabama State at 5 p.m.
